Book a tour for your school

Take your class on a fun-filled educational journey of discovery in the Busselton Cultural Precinct and beyond.

All education tours are suitable for school groups ranging from year 3 to 8 and are curriculum linked to HASS, STEM and Cross Curricular learning. Students will uncover local history filled with the hardship of first settlement and its impact on the traditional custodians.

The introduction of law and order to the settlement, logistics of importing goods, the collection of taxes and excise, shipwrecks and rescue.

We offer a range of tours encompassing the Old Courthouse Complex with our Courtrooms, Bond Store, Old Gaol, Police Station and Stables. Our guide will escort your group throughout the complex, telling true stories and engaging your students in discussion and discovery for future classroom discussion.

Delve into history in our role play extension program, as your students re-enact the initial inquiry to the tragic S.S. Georgette shipwreck. Dressed in period costume, students will roleplay parts of accused, witness, experts and jury. They will hear evidence, make a verdict and learn the outcome of the inquiry that took place at the Old Courthouse Complex in 1876.

The Icons of Busselton walking tour is included in this educational experience. Using a wayfinding map and information brochure, you will move from the Old Courthouse Complex to the Busselton Foreshore Precinct. Learn about local flora, bush tucker and the First Nations Wadandi (Saltwater) People. Explore the pioneer cemetery and visit the Ballaarat Steam Engine.
