Love Your Denim

This workshop reflects the theme of the COAST Textile Exhibition.

Sustainability is a focus of the exhibition and the workshop will be about skills to help you reduce your impact on the environment.

Do you have a favourite item of denim that needs some love? In this workshop you will learn practical and creative ways to extend the life of your denim and start turning it into a unique, wearable work of art. Hand stitching is a great life skill which can save you money and save your clothes from landfill.

You will learn some simple sashiko stitching, some basic embroidery stitches and ways of applying patches to your denim.

Suitable for beginners or more experienced hand stitchers.

All materials supplied including needles, yarns and threads, patches, interfacing.

You only need to bring:

A denim item eg jacket, jeans or shirt

Pair of sharp scissors
